The “Zwerchhälde“ of Sternenfels
The monument, which extends over an area of around 150 x 150 m, is located on the outskirts of Sternenfels on the slope of the plateau. Coming from Oberderdingen, the driver drives up the steep incline to the plateau. In doing so, it passes through a narrow, winding and steep curve in the forest. This is exactly where the building is located on the left hand side in the forest. You can already see the towering structure on the side of the road, on which the main pyramid rises at the highest point. The structure rises over three steps. The lower and middle steps can be reached from the road via a ramp in the embankment of the building, the top step, the pyramid with the rock hall, about 150 m up the road via another entrance. This somewhat hidden access is also blocked by an embankment for vehicles…
